What is the program and who is it for?

Are you a visionary Pinay, AAPI, or immigrant woman with a passion for entrepreneurship? Do you have a groundbreaking business idea but lack the resources to kickstart it? Look no further! Join RISE, a transformative 6-month Women's Entrepreneurship Program tailored to support early-stage and pre-revenue businesses. This comprehensive program is designed to empower you with the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to succeed in the dynamic world of entrepreneurship.

Entrepinayship™ is offering the third RISE Cohort using the Kauffman FastTrac® curriculum. This virtual, live course provides a solid foundation and framework to support new and early stage founders. Participants develop skills needed to launch, manage, and grow a thriving business. The program offers practical information, exercises, peer-to-peer support, coaching, and resources.

The modules in this course are Ideate, Position, Commit, Refine, Financing, and Launch. Through an immersive online course, participants have access to planning tips and exercises, including lessons on how to:

• Discover how your business concept matches your personal vision.

• Align your business concept with a real market opportunity.

• Find your target market and discover your competitive advantage.

• Determine the unique features and benefits of your product/service.

• Set realistic financial goals for your business.

• Define your company’s brand and marketing.

• Manage business functions and develop an organizational culture.

• Determine the steps to profitability.

• Identify potential sources of funding for your business.

• Launch your business.

Eligibility:

Must be pre-revenue or early stage small business with funding requirement of $50,000 or below.

Owner/founder must participate.

Open to self-identifying FIlipina and/or BIPOC women located in the U.S.

Industries encouraged to apply: Food/Hospitality, Childcare/Education, Administrative/Business Services, Retail.

Building Your Foundation:

The goal is for you to have launched or reimagine your company within 6 months of completing the program. In addition, through other cohort members, mentors, and alumni, you will have built a powerful network of support as you continue to grow your business.

Participants of the program will be expected to:

  • Develop a business plan by the end of the 6 month program.

  • Attend all classes, workshops and events.

  • Support fellow alumni.

  • Serve as a peer mentor in future cohorts.

If you are not able to commit to any of the above activities, please delay your application until you are able to fully participate in the program.

Cohort Meetings:

Leveraging the strength of the cohort, you will meet with peers and facilitators to review progress, share stories of success and challenges and receive targeted assistance as needed.

These courses are offered in a blended-learning format, combing synchronous, asynchronous, web-blended format with virtual classroom sessions, interactive learning exercises and expert guest speakers. The class format will be heavily interactive with breakout sessions with the rest of the class.  Subject matter experts will speak to each of the weekly topics and relate her/his/their personal experience to that subject.

Application Process:

Applicants will be assessed based on their desire and commitment to starting a practice/business over the next year, the amount of thought and planning they have already invested, and the resources they have available to them to implement their goal of establishing their practice/small business. There is a $150 fee for the entire program though there are limited scholarships available for Filipina and BIPOC women entrepreneurs. Applications must be submitted by 10/28/23.

Classes take place on Wednesdays, 11/1/23-3/20/24, from 5-7 pm PST.
