--Filipina Entrepreneurs Join Together Online in Nov. 17-21 Global Business x Wellness Retreat & Summit
across North America, Europe, Middle East, Australia, and Asia--

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 17, 2020 – With a diaspora of more than 10 million, Filipinos worldwide face disproportionate losses at the medical frontlines, as well as with small business closures, and rising unemployment. Entrepinayship, a global Pinay organization based in the U.S., is dedicated to economic empowerment and inspiring women to explore entrepreneurship as the vehicle for economic resiliency and innovation for Filipinas worldwide.

Launching the first-of-its-kind international business and wellness summit titled “Here for Substance: Elevating Conscious Leaders and Entrepreneurs in the Diaspora,” the five-day conference is a business and wellness retreat taking place online Nov.17-21 during Global Entrepreneurship Week (Nov. 16-20). The virtual and immersive experience also celebrates female founders during Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (Nov. 19) and features more than 60 speakers and 40 sessions, including workshops, group coaching, and inspirational fireside chats. Drawing Filipinas worldwide – whether small business owner, growth entrepreneur, freelancer, or purpose-driven leader, the summit will motivate participants to identify, create, and unlock new opportunities within today’s emerging economic reality.

“Entrepinayship exists to inspire and motivate entrepreneurs and leaders to take control of their destiny,” noted Anna Marie Cruz, Entrepinayship founder and chief elevate-her officer. “Our vision is for every Filipina to realize her full potential wherever she might be in the world and at any point in her life.”

One of the summit’s three Filipina keynote speakers is fashion designer Josie Natori, founder and CEO of The Natori Company, and former White House commissioner on small business, who will share how she built an iconic fashion brand and company valued at nearly $40 million. The second keynote speaker, scientist Aisa Mijeno, co-founder and CEO of SALt (Sustainable Alternative Lighting), will discuss the challenge of funding human-centric innovations. The third keynote speaker is Felicitas “Joji” Pantoja, president and CEO of Coffee for Peace (CFP), who will review how she tackled the challenge of hunger-fueled conflict with a simple cup of coffee.

Other featured speakers at the global summit include:

·       Aurora Almendral, award-winning journalist for The New York Times, National Geographic, and NBC News

·       Catherine Buan, award-winning investor relations executive at Asana

·       Catherine Ceniza Choy, author of “Empire of Care,” professor and associate dean at UC Berkeley

Each day during the global retreat features a wellness session, highlighting Entrepinayship’s holistic approach to entrepreneurship. These daily sessions include a culturally inspired yoga practice “Breath and Binusuan,” led by Lululemon Legacy Ambassador Kaye Penaflor, as well as trauma-informed chair yoga, led by therapist Ria Tirazona. The culturally accessible practices remind women to practice their own self-care, especially during the pandemic, when often doing so much caring for others. As well, coaching sessions will be offered by Gallup-Certified strengths coach May Soriano and creative business coach and mompreneur Rechie Valdez. Other interactive experiences include a virtual wine tasting with Filipina-American sommeliers, happy hour with Filipina-founded Kasama Rum, and a paper doll activity designed by a Filipina graphic artist who pivoted and launched her business during the pandemic.
